FIRST RECORD OF THE BLOG
Apologies for being away for so long, I'm sure my ONE follower missed me, but i have had very faulty internet for the last few days so have been unable to blog. Had a rather eventful day, me and a few friends did a 'indie' tour of london, resulting in portobello, camden, brick lane and shoreditch, all without a single penny spent on transport, so i shall blog about the items i got there later. For now however its the first record of the blog, and one was once quoted as 'The best record ever, if you havent heard it you havent lived', so introducing... The Grateful Dead's ten track masterpiece 'American Rose'.
I got this on the Rough Trade on Portobello, a great shop if you haven't already been there, and there was quite a calamity, an underused word if you asked me. I had found the record, after weeks of searching, and placed it on the desk ready to buy when suddenly my phone rang. I answered and was dragged into a boring conversation which continued for several minutes. In this time a portly german man had seen the record lying on the counter and bought it, the shop people assuming he was with me. When i got off the phone i looked and to my surprise, no record lay on the counter. I asked the man behind the desk and he explained what had happened, when i explained his mistake he leaped from his stool and, with me by his side, we raced down portobello chasing this german fellow. Unfortuantely we couldn't reach him but the bearded shop keeper thought it might have another, and alas he did. A first edition LP but due to the mix up he gave it to me for the same price. A great deal really.
Anyway, cheerio.
J.
